Global Youth Mandate, in partnership with UNESCO, is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 SDG 4 Star of the Year Award.
About the Award
The SDG 4 Star of the Year Award recognises an individual whose work is driving meaningful progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. Each year, the award celebrates educators, innovators, and changemakers who are transforming access to education, improving learning outcomes, and expanding opportunity for young people around the world.
This is the inaugural edition of the award, with the winner to be selected by a formal vote of the Global Youth Mandate Board of Trustees.
Who Can Apply
We welcome applications from:
- Educators and school leaders
- Youth-led education initiatives
- NGOs and community organisations working in education
- Innovators developing new approaches to learning
- Anyone whose work is advancing SDG 4 in a measurable way

Interested applicants and nominators should submit their application, along with a summary of their work and its impact, to:
